This summer i thought it would be a good idea to start a little "Business" of my own. Since my neighborhood is kinda far away from the local gas station/convenience store, i was thinking of selling snack items and drinks in my yard. I don’t want to sell any prepared foods like pizza or anything not in a sealed package. i need to know what licensing and/or permits i need to get in order to do this, if any at all. Thanks in advance!!!
You will need to check with the zoning & licensing requirements for your area at your city hall or county facility. Be prepared as this may require far more requirements than you may think (and be prepared to deal with)

First off, I am unsure if you would be able to do this based on what you are stating that you want to do. Are you saying that you are looking to start a convenience store type setting in your yard? If so, you would need to consider that a business and have it registered and the get a license to sell those items. The type of license you would need would be listed on your state’s website (for example: http://www.nj.gov). Now if you are looking to do this while you are selling something else (furniture, jewelry, etc; basically having a yard sale) then you do not need a license. Selling food at a yard sale is perfectly alright without a license.
